Japanese Bronze Hibachi, 19th century

Simplicity is one the hallmarks of Japanese design, and this bronze hibachi or “fire bowl” would have been filled with hot coals and used to heat a room. The pared back aesthetic has been discreetly embellished by geometric silver inlay to the upper edge.
