This copy of a Roman bronze discovered in Herculaneum near Pompeii and originally Greek owes more to the fantasy decorating world of Tony Duquette (1914-1999) whose feverish, over the top designs for film, stage and interiors included multiple layers of classical, oriental and modernist references resulting in a truly unique and complex mise-en-scene.
