$1,500

A Japanese bronze vase dating from the early 20th century.

Of ovoid form with an amazing patinated finish it is cast with scrolling motifs which suggest clouds and show how modernism was so influenced by Japanese design. It has a beautifully made liner that fits into the neck so that the entire vessel doesn’t need to be filled with water, another example of Japanese ingenuity. Signed by …. to the base.

27 cm high.
