A 1930s Acid Etched Whisky Decanter for Stewarts of Aberdeen, c. 1930

c. 1930

Harking from the days of the soda siphon, this deep and crisply etched decanter was probably supplied to a gentlemen’s club and refilled (regularly) from a barrel in the cellar, in its way an early form of recycling. The firm of C. and W. Stewart of Aberdeen was founded in 1832 and exported their blended whiskies worldwide.
