Singular Georgian Revival Candlestick, circa 1925

circa 1925
mahogany and brass
46 cm tall
$120

Made of turned mahogany with a brass nozzle, this candlestick has nothing to declare except its singularity and slenderness. The weighted turned base rises to a baluster shaft supporting an urn shaped nozzle and makes for an elegant focal piece in a still life group when it has a candle burning. Very typical or the rediscovery of the Georgian aesthetic of the early 20th century.
